The Eyes by Petra Pierre-Robertson



Evil ones spy on the godly ones, stalking them to find something they could use to accuse them. (Psalm 37:32-33 TPT)


I felt the eyes.

I was in my backyard, chilling in the cool of the morning. The sounds of various tones of whistling birds permeated the air. Occasionally a rooster crowed.

I felt the eyes on me. I looked around.

The mouth was turned down.

The stare was hard.

The intent was not good.


Stalking

Thankfully a fence separated us.

The eyes of the fierce dog remained focussed on me as I moved around the back yard. If the fence was not there, I would be in trouble..


I thought of other eyes (1 Peter 5:8), focussed on us, stalking us, wishing that there wasn't a fence, so they could have their way with us (Job 1:10) Eyes that pursue wanting to destroy our influence, relationships, family, reputation, skills and accomplishments. Eyes of jealousy, envy, hatred, greed, power. Eyes that feed gossiping lips. Yes, destructive eyes are always on us. Evil ones spy on the godly ones, stalking them to find something they could use to accuse them. (Psalm 37:32-33 TPT)


The eyes of the Lord are in every place

But guess what? Thankfully there are also other eyes on us as well, looking down from above. The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous (Psalm 34:15). The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good. (Proverbs 15:3) While their eyes are on you rest assured God's eyes are on them.

So I continued my morning walk and meditation in the backyard. Yes, the eyes continued stalking, they always will...


...but God's eyes are also keeping watch...


...on the evil and the good...

Unfinished... I love building puzzles! 1500 pieces and up give me a puzzle rush! What keeps me going is the visualization of the end product; more specifically the scenic photograph on the box. What's in the Darkness by Petra Pierre-Robertson

Daniel 2:22 "He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with him" It was early morning. The windows were closed. The curtains were drawn. The silence of morning was therapeutic as I walked through the house planning my day in my head. Three major tasks swam in my head. I headed to my 'To Do" memo pad to document them. Thankfully no major cleaning was necessary. As I passed the living room I noted a little debris on the rug so I digressed for the broom and dust tray to sweep the debris off the rug. Small debris on the rug I pulled back the curtain. The early morning sunlight seeped through. And immediately I saw them; little particles of dust in a straight line riding on the beam of the sun. Instinctively I held my breath as I walked through them. Then it occurred to me,  the particles are in the entire room. I pulled the curtain wider.
